Hardwood Chevron Tavli (Backgammon Board)

This tavli, or backgammon board, is built from complete scratch. The box was made from straight-grained Sapele, with the various other elements cut from pieces of Ash, Cherry, Sapele, and Redwood. This piece also features some decorative hardwood plywood chevrons. The circular stones are made from White Oak and Walnut to allow for a big contrast between the ‘black’ and ‘white’ pieces.

Although highly decorative, the joinery in this board allows it to stand up to heavy and regular use.
